PaidonDue vs GoCardless
PaidonDue and GoCardless sit at different points in the same job. PaidonDue reads invoices already recorded in your ledger and coordinates collection when each invoice is due, or when the product or service is delivered as set out in the invoice or agreement, under your customer's payment authority. GoCardless is a Direct Debit payment collection platform that also connects directly to some ledgers. What follows is what each one actually does, so you can see which fits your setup.
PaidonDue
Reads eligible invoices from your ledger (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Visma, Fortnox, MYOB), coordinates your customer's payment authority, and schedules collection on the invoice due date, subject to required notice. The result is written back to the same invoice in your ledger.
GoCardless
A Direct Debit payment collection platform. GoCardless states it collects recurring and one-off payments by Direct Debit across more than 30 countries and 8 bank debit schemes.
Connecting to your ledger
PaidonDue's own ledger pages describe each integration in full: Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Visma, Fortnox, MYOB.
GoCardless's own integrations directory lists direct connections to Xero, QuickBooks and Sage, describing automatic collection against invoices raised in those ledgers.
